On October 29th, E2D3 invited a GEMS (Great Explorations in Math and Science) Japan instructor to conduct a math and numeracy workshop “Food and math”.
About GEMS® : GEMS develops and publishes science and math curriculum, offers professional development, and maintains an international support network. GEMS is a program run by Laurence Hall of Science at University of California, Berkeley.
The work was conducted by dividing to adults and children groups. We wrote a letter to the restaurant owner with our recommendation.
After the workshop, we enjoyed tortilla and talked.
We had a reflection session. The participants included people from all different background and children. We discussed impact and joy of learning by doing.
After the workshop, we had a presentation session by participants volunteers.
